Nancy and Being the Brigantine Real Estate Advocate

Why did you get into the business?

My family owned a quad rental property in Brigantine since the 1950’s – we used one unit & seasonally rented the other three primarily on a weekly basis, consequently I grew up in an environment where I knew all the local realtors as a child, became very comfortable with regularly meeting & interacting w/ new people at early age. It was a natural progression for me.

What is your favorite part of the business?

Bringing clients together with the perfect vacation home! I can personally attest to the lifestyle benefits of owning a vacation home. Our family home at the beach was a gathering place for our large extended family, allowing scattered brothers & sisters, sons & daughters, aunts, uncles & cousins to come together each summer. Long-held traditions were shared & new ones were born. Simple pleasures are the best & time spent with family & friends is precious, that’s where memories are made, I treasure the ones made over those many summers & it’s great to know I’m helping others embark upon that same experience.

How has the business changed since you started out?

Brigantine has grown from a little known, sleepy fishing village into a highly sought-after seaside resort destination with a 70% vacation home 30% permanent residence ratio. Keeping pace with this transition buyer needs are changing, focus shifting from modest bungalows to luxury residences, new construction & investment property.

In the 28 years I’ve been a Brigantine realtor the way business is conducted has also changed dramatically. To service clients effectively technology driven strategies such as online marketing, social media, professional photography & virtual tours of listings are essential to engage buyers & efficiently market listings.

What is your perfect day?

Meeting new clients, finding them the Brigantine home of their dreams, making new lifelong friends.
